Thursday is named after Thor, the Norse god of Thunder, who was equated with / translated from the Roman god of Jupiter.
Jupiter is the fifth furthest planet from the sun, the largest planet in our Solar System and one of the ‘gas giants’. When visible Jupiter is the third brightest object in the sky after the Moon and Venus. Jupiter has at least 67 moons, with one in particular (Europa) being of potential scientific interest as containing life. The mass of Jupiter is around two and a half times the mass of all the other planets in the solar system combined.
