Multilingual flashcard: Shark

Multilingual flashcard – Shark in 10 languages.

Often maligned, kings of the deep, sharks are fascinating creatures.

Fossils of sharks date back to around 420 million years ago and they have since then diversified into more than 50 species, ranging in size from the small dwarf lanternshark , which is only 17 centimetres (6.7 in) in length, to the whale shark, the largest fish in the world, which can grow to 12 metres (40 ft) in length. Most sharks are at the top of their food chain, but many species are now endangered by humans.
