Fossil in 10 languages with another multilingual flashcard. How is your language learning journey going?
Fossil comes from the Latin ‘fossilis’ meaning ‘obtained by digging’ and are the preserved remains or traces of animals or plants. I still remember learning that most fossils are actually made by minerals hardening in a cavity left by an organism rather than hardened organisms which was quite mind-blowing!
Have you ever found any fossils?
My family has a rather odd, but interesting Valentine’s Day tradition. Every year my parents would get me and my brother a stone, mineral or fossil as a gift, along with some information about it. I still have my collection of fossils and stones and it sparked an interest in geology, archaeology and paleontology.
Does your family have any strange traditions like this?
