Tomorrow is going to be a good day!

Just received this notification from Amazon:

Arriving tomorrow!

girlintower

I’m so excited to read this! The Bear and The Nightingale was one of my favourite reads of 2017 and I have been counting down the days until I could get my hands on a copy of the second book in the trilogy, The Girl in the Tower.

I was heartbroken to be turned down for a review copy on Netgalley, but pre-ordered the hardback on Amazon…and now it’s on the way!

So, that alone would have been my weekend planned, but there’s more!

booklaunch hero at the fall

Tomorrow I’m going to the book launch for Hero at the Fall by Alwyn Hamilton. I have read and loved the first two books in this trilogy (Rebel of the Sands and Traitor to the Throne) and am beyond excited to finally read the third book (a full week before the publication date!).

I do always find it hard going into the final part of a trilogy because of warring feelings: the need to know what happens next and the desire to still have more of the world to discover. I want to read more about my favourite characters but I just don’t want the books to be over…

The hardest thing is going to be that tomorrow is Thursday, meaning work on Friday. This means I will have to actually go to bed rather than staying up all night to read these two beauties!

    1. Did you enjoy it? I loved it on Thursday but was exhausted after work so couldn’t really hang around to talk to many people…

I did! I was by myself for most of it, but it was so good 😃

      2. I saw a few people I recognised from Twitter but was too shy to go up and say hello to most of them – regret it a bit now! Still Alwyn Hamilton and Samantha Shannon were fantastic 🙂 And I love the collection of short stories!

    1. I picked up the first two books in the Rebel trilogy from my library after hearing them mentioned a lot – were quite different to what I had imagined but loved them. Now in the tricky position of wanting to read the third book…yet not wanting the story to be over just yet…

    1. I’ve been wanting to read it for so long, I’m now struggling to start – I need a good few hours for uninterrupted reading as I know that I will be really grumpy with anyone who tries to talk to me when I’m reading it!

I also really love The Bear and The Nightingale as well as The Girl in the Tower. I cannot wait to see where the last book takes us.
I have been on the fence about the Rebel trilogy but lately have been eying it longingly. I really need to get to them at some point. Especially now that all three books are out.
