Happy book birthday!

I don’t know what it is about the 8th February but there are an insane number of brilliant books out today from various publishers.

I’m guessing it must be that they have realized that all of us bookworms are in need of a pick-me-up!

I mean, it’s February – it’s cold and grey, Christmas cheer is a distant memory and we’re just about surfacing from reading all of the books we got as presents.

Perhaps it’s time to clean out our wallets and stack the shelves…

Here are a few books that I have been lucky enough to be approved for on Netgalley, all due out today:

8th Feb

I have had a fantastic few weeks of reading working my way through these – although I have learned my lesson in checking the publication date when requesting on Netgalley as I had not initially realised that these were all due out at the same time – whoops!

So far, I have read 8 out of the 10 books above, although haven’t posted all my reviews yet. Here they are, in no particular order, with reviews linked where posted:

The Eye of the North by Sinead O’Hart

13th Reality: Journal of Curious Letters by James Dashner

Sunflowers in February by Phyllida Shrimpton

Folk by Zoe Gilbert

The Belles by Dhonielle Clayton

The Toymakers by Robert Dinsdale

The Wren Hunt by Mary Watson

Unveiling Venus by Sophia Bennett

The Taste of Blue Light by Lydia Ruffles

The Hazel Wood by Melissa Albert

The Belles and Unveiling Venus are still on my TBR (this weekend, whoo!) and the reviews of other books on this list will be posted over the next few weeks.

Have you read any of these books?

Are there any which have caught your eye?

  1. The 8th Feb really was an amazing day for new books! I have lots of these on my TBR, and I enjoyed the Eye of the North a few months ago. Robin Stevens’s newest was out too that day, and I’m reading it and it is WONDERFUL!

    1. I still have to start that series – have ordered A Murder Most Unladylike from my library as my local branch doesn’t have it in stock. Looking forward to it!

    1. I’m just about to start The Belles and have heard lots of great things about it. I did enjoy The Hazel Wood, but wish the bit of the book in the actual Hazel Wood was longer as it was my favourite bit! Let me know what you think when you read them 🙂
