April Round-Up

Monthly Round-Up for April

See my monthly round-ups for January, February and March

April has, as always been a varied and busy month – I have been in three countries (England, Northern Ireland and Wales), working full-time and reading as much as possible around that! I have attended a few bookish events, including the wonderful YA Shot and have gained some new books for the shelves – probably more than I should have, whoops!

April Achievements and Highlights

I went home for part of the Easter holidays and, despite having a cold, managed to relax, see friends and family, visit some historical sites and lots of bookshops!

Attended YA Shot in Uxbridge which was an amazing experience. I also, FINALLY, got up the nerve to say hello to some of the lovely book bloggers who I know from Twitter and blogging. Turns out they’re just as nice in real life!

My blog has gained more views already than it had in the entirety of last year – whoo hoo! I know that views aren’t everything but I am glad that someone out there is reading and enjoying my posts

I now have over 400 followers and over 2000 views, which has made me very happy.

Finally started using Instagram – please feel free to follow me or leave your links below as I am really enjoying finding new accounts to follow.

Thank you to everyone for reading!

April Favourites

Favourite tea: Have been drinking lots of Green Tea with Jasmine, as well as the entire Steamed Green Tea range from Twinings. Yum!

Skincare: Loving the Vitamin Facial Spritz from Superdrug’s B range – smells yummy and makes my skin glow!

Watching: Went to see A Wrinkle of Time and Ready Player One in the cinema – I loved Ready Player One even though it was different from the book. On the other hand, I was bitterly disappointed in A Wrinkle of Time because I had worried about how the weirdness of the book would translate to screen and it…just..didn’t…

I have not watched any TV this month – has anyone got any recommendations?

  1. Some fab books on your read pile! I thoroughly enjoyed the Company of Eight this month too, and I adore Lockwood, Spellchasers and the Nowhere Emporium, and have enjoyed a few others too. VERY excited for the Storm Keepers Island come July 😊 What did you think of When the Mountains Roared?

    1. Loved When the Mountains Roared and have just started reading it to my class – they were gripped! Really enjoyed the Nowhere Emporium and looking forward to the sequel. The Spellchasers Trilogy was completely my cup of tea – am now trying to get a hold of Lari Don’s other series (first aid for fairies etc) My reservatio of the next Lockwood (Hollow Boy) has arrived so will be reading that soon. I liked the first book, but enjoyed the second book even more! As for the Storm Keepers Island – I absolutely adored it! Only read it last month but already planning a reread 🙂 Would definitely recommend it very highly!

      2. Thank you! I have followed you on Bloglovin’ 🙂 I would absolutely love to visit South America one day. I remember reading about the Nazca Lines when I was a kid and wanting to visit. Plus Machu Picchu, penguins, salt plains, Galapagos islands, the waterfalls, the Amazon…I could go on forever! Someday perhaps…
