My 5 Autumn Essentials
Don’t you just love Autumn?
I love the colours of the foliage, the bright, clear and chilly days, the morning mist curling between the trees, the excuse to start wearing boots and curl up in fluffy blankets with a hot drink, the spicy scents and the preparations for Hallowe’en, the fireworks bursting against the starry sky and so much more.
It’s not all positive as I’m not so fond of the colder mornings and the nights dropping earlier, but overall, Autumn is my favourite season for all of the reasons I listed above and the fact that it will be my birthday soon!
Yet, with the seasons changing, some parts of our daily routine need to change too.
Here are a few of my essentials for Autumn!

Gingerbread Green Tea
I love, love, love this flavour! It is one of the few herbal teas which tastes as good as it smells and this smell has Autumn all over it.
Not only does it taste sweet enough to help you satisfy cravings without resorting to eating an entire gingerbread house, but the spice helps to warm you up and stay healthy in the colder weather.
In China, ginger is known to help with nausea and indigestion and is commonly used to help with period pain, morning sickness or indigestion. It is also used in drinks in the winter months to help stave off the cold and the flu.
I am not sure of how many of these health benefits have been proven, but I have experienced ginger helping with travel sickness and having it with my breakfast on cold winter mornings definitely helped me to get ready to face the day!
Fluffy fox slippers
Any excuse to get a bit more cosiness into your day – they don’t have to be foxes but how could you resist these adorable faces?
I was lucky enough to have a voucher for John Lewis as a present that I needed to spend before it ran out – so I bought myself these fluffy fox slippers and I adore them!
Fluffy slippers, a cosy blanket, a cup of tea and a book…heaven!
Hydration booster
As the weather gets colder and the heating in homes and workplaces starts to be switched on, our skin needs even more hydration than usual.
I love this hydrating booster as a way to make my normal creams even more moisturizing.
I mix this with some primer and BB cream in the mornings to provided an extra boost of hydration during the day!
( I cleanse, then use gel mousturiser, SPF and finally primer/BB/moisture booster). I love the Simple skincare range because they don’t irritate my sensitive skin at all.
Water-boosting night cream
Once again, with the changing seasons, it’s really important to keep your skin hydrated. I love this night cream because it sinks in so quickly without any residue, leaves my skin feeling fresh and mousturised and it still feels mousturised in the morning.
I also love the fruity smell!
It feels almost more like a gel and hasn’t caused any irritation at all with my sensitive skin.
Body mousse
I picked this up on a whim when I saw it reduced in my local supermarket. Generally, I love Nivea products for your skin as my go-to mousturisers are usually the Nivea Q-10 one, Palmer’s Coconut Oil Cream or (if I’m lucky enough to get a present) the Sanctuary or Body Shop Body Butters.
This smells really fresh and fruity and I was intrigued by the idea of a body mousse, rather than a cream. It comes out a bit like shaving foam, with a really light texture. A little goes a long way, but it sinks in instantly.
I have noticed that my skin still feels mousturised after several hours which is a bonus and the delicate scent is great!

I love autumn too, and I’m LOVING the sound if those slippers! I tend to wear bedsocks rather than slippers (though I had to get some for hospital, which are sheep), and have a few pairs with animal faces that I love as well as patterned ones 😊. My autumn essentials are probably my blankets that I use when on the couch, though I do use them in ither seasons too !

I should have included one of my many fluffy blankets in the list too! Love the sound of your sheep slippers 😀
I usually wear fluffy socks all the time, but pop slippers on when pottering around the flat. These fox slippers are so comfy that I am almost tempted to wear them to work. I am currently wearing fluffy socks (foxes of course) and am cuddled up in a fluffy blanket 🙂

I think I have penguins, polar bears (though they’re missing), bugs, reindeer, penguins, Pudsey and owls. I think those are all my current animal ones. Yours sound lovely!

Fluffy socks are the perfect Christmas present so I usually give and receive quite a few pairs! I like the sound of reindeer ones too…

I love autumn too but I’ve never really experienced it, but I love the idea of it. Hopefully I can experience it when I travel. I never tried any of your essentials but the tea sounds yummy 😋

What is Autumn like where you are? I lived overseas in China and it felt like we had Summer – Rainy Season- Winter- Rainy Season, then back to Summer again. Would definitely recommend the Gingerbread Green Tea because it warms you up and has a little bit of sweetness to it without being too sweet. Maybe it will even stop me devouring gingerbread biscuits…

Before when I was in the Philippines it was the same Summer and Rainy Season but I moved to Abu Dhabi last year and it’s Scorching Hot Summer and Winter that’s about it. I can’t wait to try it, I will checkout our groceries if it’s available 💕
