Six for Sunday: Author Collaborations I would love to see
This is a tricky one again this week…
I know that Alwyn Hamilton‘s new book is set at a similar time period to Melinda Salisbury‘s State of Sorrow, though in a different part of the world. They briefly toyed with the idea of a crossover or at least a nod towards each other in their respective books. That would be fun to see!
One collaboration that has already happened, but I would like to see more from, was Jessie Burton and Angela Barrett in The Restless Girls. The combination of Jessie’s writing and Angela’s illustrations is just perfect!
Similarly, Robert MacFarlane and Jackie Morris have created The Lost Words, an absolute work of art. I would love to see more from this dream team!
I love The Invisible Library series by Genevieve Cogman and the Following Ophelia series by Sophia Bennett. Something tells me that a collaboration between these two authors would be fantastic, as they bring their influences from art and literature together. Then, if we threw Laura E. Weymouth into the mix…all sorts of awesomeness would ensue!
Finally, my favourite re-imaginings of fairytales come from Cornelia Funke, Deirdre Sullivan and Hilary McKay. Together they could create even more dark, twisty tales!
What did you think of my choices?
Which authors would you like to see work together?
