Six for Sunday: Characters I want to see together

Six for Sunday: Characters I want to see together

Oh now, the theme this week is practically impossible! At first I started thinking about characters from different books and imagined who it would be interesting to see together whether as friends, enemies or lovers, but it is so tough!

Let me have a go…

One of my ultimate ‘ships’ is Draco and Hermione from Harry Potter. I have a number of reasons for this, such not believing that Ron and Hermione would ultimately stay together (their relationship in school having so many ups-and-downs, how few people stay together with their first partner and the fact that they want such different things out of life – even J.K. Rowling has expressed her doubts!). I also think that Hermione’s fascination with the magical world would make her want to find out more about purebloods, she and Draco were often both at the top of their classes and, despite his bigoted upbringing, he has clearly seen that ‘pure blood’ isn’t everything! Even if they didn’t end up as a couple, I could see them crossing paths in a professional arena or becoming friends

Another, possibly unpopular opinion, is Kai and Irene from The Invisible Library Series. I know that there are other love interests and plenty of reasons why they shouldn’t/ couldn’t be together, but I have secretly been rooting for them to become a couple since the first book!

Luke and Silyen from The Dark Gifts/ Gilded Cage series. I have now finished the trilogy so know how this did/didn’t turn out (don’t want to spoil it for anyone!), but I thought that they would be interesting together since the first book!

Alanna and Jonathan from The Song of the Lioness series. I know that it doesn’t make particular sense, especially considering that he believes her to be a boy at first and he is the future king. In the books, they both end up with different people, ultimately better suited to them than they are to each other. Yet, the romantic in me was always rooting for first love to win!

Isaac and Thea from The Light Between Us. This book left me with all the feels and I was ultimately cheering them on across time and space!

Ev and Tom in The Light Between Worlds – I knew that this relationship was doomed from the start, because of Evelyn’s experiences in the Woodlands, but he is just such a lovely, calm, positive presence in her life that  found myself wanting them to work out somehow…

Phew! Think I’m going to have to stop there for today – this was such a tough prompt!
