Violin in 10 languages
Another popular music instrument today, following piano and my current theme of music. Stringed instruments have been common since antiquity but the violin, in its current form, emerged in 16th century Italy and has since become an important part of orchestras, as well as being used by soloists.
Here are some contemporary violinists whose music I really enjoy:
This album is one I used to listen to a lot when I was younger. I also used the beginning of ‘Classical Gas’ for my gymnastics routine for years so still feel the urge to move when listening to this particular piece!
I came across Lindsay Stirling when she did a collaboration with The Piano Guys, then again in a cover of Radioactive by Imagine Dragons, performed by her with The Pentatonix. Her music mixes a variety of influences and is great fun! I also love how she dresses up, does music from various geekdoms and dances while she plays!
Do you play any musical instruments?
Can you recommend any violin music to me?
Thanks for reading!
