Monthly Round-Up for November
November feels like it has passed in the blink of an eye!
It has, if possible, been even busier than October. We have been viewing houses, making offers, and having our hopes both raised and dashed. In school, we have had parent-teacher evenings and been preparing for one of my favourite events of the year – Arts Week! We will be spending an entire week doing Art and I am super-excited!
Due to life being busy, I haven’t read as much as I had hoped his month!

I have actually been borrowing tonnes of books from the library (as you can see by the fact that 37 of the 44 books I read this month were from the library) but have been terrible at being organized enough to photograph the books – whoops!
November Achievements and Highlights
WE BOUGHT A HOUSE! This is probably one of the most exciting, yet terrifying things that I’ve ever done. We saw a house that we loved, put an offer in…and were rejected. I was really upset…then, they phoned back and said yes! We went to have another look at the house last week and I am incredibly excited to move in. The house is in pretty bad condition so it needs quite a lot of updating, but we will have a garden, it’s within walking distance to my school and is next to a gorgeous, huge park. I have already started planning how many more bookshelves I can fit in…

This was such a lovely, uplifting experience and I couldn’t recommend this warm community of bloggers more highly. I feel privileged!
I successfully completed Parent-Teacher Evenings for all my pupils and am feeling ready to blast off into Arts Week (a whole week of Art!) next week!
I had a lovely but quiet birthday, with several of my pupils making me handmade cards and some gifts from family and friends that I can use in our new house.
November Favourites
Food/Drink: The least said about this the better – unfortunately November has been a terrible month for self-care. I haven’t been eating particularly unhealthily but have been eating simply for the sake of fuel, therefore working through meals and grazing at my desk.
Skincare: I have been shockingly bad at looking after my skin this month – really need to step it up now that the weather is colder!
TV/Film: This month, we watched the first series of American Horror Story. Honestly, I was tricked into watching the first episode, because I would never have chosen to watch it myself (I am a total wimp with horror movies!). Despite initially worrying that I would be terrified (the opening sequence is disturbing) I ended up really enjoying it! The storytelling is convoluted and the characters are fascinating – I would recommend it even if you hate horror movies!
I’ve heard that each series is different, so may continue with Season 2 in December. I am also excited to rewatch Rogue One (it has just appeared on Netflix) – my favourite of all the Star Wars movies so far, in large part due to the darker storyline and Cassian Andor!
I am terrible for not having seen most movies so hoping to actually watch a few over the Christmas holidays this year! Let me know if you can think of any that I simply must watch.

Congratulations on your new home!! My November was pleasant, nothing major happened. I visited family for a few days while my husband travelled to Florida for a football game. We live in Ireland so that’s quite a journey!!

Congratulations on your new home! My Nov has been bz didn’t really get to read much! We just welcomed a new baby to our family 🙂 I hope you get to fit in many bookshelves in your new home!! ❤️🤗

Congratulations on your new baby! I can imagine that you’ve been very busy! We won’t be able to move in until mid-January, but it’s still very exciting to have a pile of bricks to call our own…

Thank you for the congratulations! We won’t be able to move in until mid/late January but I am still really excited! Arts week was amazing, but tiring – I try to keep as much structure as possible, but many children struggle with being off timetable all week. Thank you for your lovely comment and sorry that it has taken me so long to get back to you – have been really lax on the blogging front recently!
