Yes, I know that this is very very late (it’s April!) but I still wanted to highlight some amazing books I read during this month, even if it was rather a quiet month on the blogging front due to me having surgery and moving house.
See my January Round-Up
Picture books: 24
Graphic novels: 0
Middle Grade: 6
Young adult: 7
I managed to read a surprising amount this month, although many of them were shorter books as I struggled to concentrate on anything too long after getting out of hospital. I also tried to walk to my library (5 minute walk!) two days after the surgery and realised that I had done too much by the time I arrived…so I ended up sitting and reading picture books until I could get a lift home!
Sources of books
ARC: 3 (0 e-ARCs from Netgalley)
Books read that count towards the #YARC2019 Reading Challenge: 7 (Total so far = 10) Better than last month, but I will still need to read a lot more to get anywhere near my target!
Highlights this month have included: Summer Bird Blue; East of the Sun, West of the Moon; The Familiars; Marcy and the Riddle of the Sphinx; A History of Pictures; The Book of Trees; I Believe in a Thing Called Love; Corey’s Rock and Wild Kingdom (A Book of Sleep is a re-read and I still love Il Sung Na’s llustrations!)
Not many this month I’m afraid!

February Achievements and Highlights
Despite everything that happened, we did manage to move house at the end of the month, which was a massive achievement especially considering that I had to go into hospital immediately before we were due to move!
The house we bought was in pretty bad condition so we had lots of work to do before we could move in, let alone moving all of the furniture etc. I am down to about six (big!) boxes of stuff still to unpack so we’re getting there. There is still a lot to be done, but it is our own little piece of earth, and I am already appreciating being able to sit out in the garden when it’s sunny. Having access to our own outdoor space was something I really missed when living in an apartment!
Now we have more room, I need to buy more bookcases…
Food/Drink: We haven’t been great this month – it’s been a lot of sandwiches, microwave meals and ready-to-eat food due to lack of cooking facilities and lack of energy from me!
Skincare: The least said about this the better…need to look after myself better!
TV/Film: My partner’s family came to stay with us to help us with the work on our new house – they have been watching Making a Murderer on Netflix so I ended up catching a few episodes of that with them. Overall, I slept a lot so didn’t watch too much TV!
