Six for Sunday: Characters I Want To Befriend

Six for Sunday: Characters I want to befriend

S4Sbefriend

This week of #SixforSunday is just as tough as some of the previous weeks. The prompt is six characters that you would want to be friends with…

Last year, we did a similar prompt asking us to think of characters who would make good best friends, but this one is a bit broader.

Which fictional characters would you like to become friends with?

Jude Duarte from The Cruel Prince/ The Wicked King

Jude is such a strong character, whether you love her or not. I imagine that she would be an incredibly loyal friend who would make sure that you don’t do something stupid when with the faeries!

Howl and Sophie from Howl’s Moving Castle

Not only are they both brilliant characters, but who could pass up the chance to visit the moving castle and meet Calcifer?! Actually, could this family just adopt me please.

Kellen from the Spellslinger series

Okay, he’s perhaps not the safest friend to be around as trouble seems to follow him everywhere, but at lest your life would never be dull! I would love to meet Ferius Parfax too, although the Argosi way of speaking would probably drive me mad. And Reichis is the best animal sidekick (sorry, main act!) ever.

Vasilisa from The Bear and The Nightingale

Once again, Vasilisa is just a character whom I would love to get to know better because I was so invested in her story. It would be such a great experience to be able to hear what all of the creatures from fairytales and folklore are saying!

Severin and Laila…and just the whole gang in The Gilded Wolves

I love the ‘found family’ trope and the mismatched group of friends who are at the centre of this book just captured my heart. I would love to get to know them all better and try some of Laila’s baking!

Mildred from The Worst Witch

Again, possibly not the safest choice as Mildred always manages to get in trouble, but, clearly, my life is in need of a bit more chaos!

  1. Oh I would also love to be friends with Jude, I love her character a lot, it’s like you say very strong and loyal so I think she would be a great friend 😊💪🏻💕

    1. I imagine that she would also be quite unforgiving if you annoyed her, but definitely good to be with her rather than against her!

Totally with you for Howl and Sophie as well as Kellen, I definitely wouldn’t want to pass up an opportunity to go to the former’s “castle”!

    1. Yes, how cool would it be to travel in the Moving Castle?! Kellen and Reichis would be great fun too, although would perhaps attract too much trouble…

Fun post! I would also love to be friends with Sophie and Howl! I adore that entire family, and Calcifer always cracked me up. I feel like Sophie in particular would make such a strong and level headed friend, while Howl would keep me (and everyone else) on my toes 24/7!

    1. Howl would probably be quite a frustrating and mercurial friend to have, but Sophie would keep everyone’s feet on the ground. Still, any connection with that family would make sure that you would never be bored!
