Book Reviews
Review policy:
I will read pretty much anything and everything but my favourite genres are children’s picture books, MG and YA fiction, fantasy and science-fiction.
I also read historical and literary fiction as well as a variety of non-fiction on science, languages and linguistics, history and archaeology, etc. The only genres I tend not to read much of are crime and horror, although I have enjoyed the odd crime or horror novel.
I do not write a full review for everything I read because reviews are time-consuming and I would (usually!) rather spend that time reading more. However, I usually do a quick review on Goodreads for everythng.
I do review all ARCs I receive on my blog, Goodreads and Netgalley (if applicable), generally from the perspective of an educator.
As a teacher, there are certain times during the year when I am simply overwhelmed with my day job so I cannot guarantee a quick turnaround on reviews – I will get there in the end! During the holidays, I read, review and blog much more frequently.
* Update January 2019: At the moment I am not accepting review requests due to health reasons. I cannot currently promise a timely review, apologies. I hope to be back to normal posting as soon as possible*
My ratings :
1 star – not for me
2 stars – okay, feel quite indifferent about it
3 stars – good, liked it
4 stars – excellent, loved it
5 stars – exceptionally good, loved it and will be racing out to purchase my own copy if I haven’t already.
If you would like to request a review please e-mail me at christinareid (at) live (dot) co (dot) uk. with further details. Please note that, while I will do my best to answer all requests, I am a busy teacher so will answer most quickly at weekends!
I am also happy to take part in blog tours – I enjoy doing Q+As and am happy to host cover reveals or guest posts too. Please get in touch at christinareid@live.co.uk
