Summary (from Goodreads):

Mila and her sisters live with their brother Oskar in a small forest cabin in the snow. One night, a fur-clad stranger arrives seeking shelter for himself and his men. But by the next morning, they’ve gone – taking Oskar with them. Fearful for his safety, Mila and her sisters set out to bring Oskar back – even it means going north, crossing frozen wild-lands to find a way past an eternal winter.

Why I can’t wait to read this:

  • I have loved both of Kiran’s previous books so am already excited about this one!
  • The forest setting, where so many folk tales and fairytales have happened – it sounds like a magical setting, particularly with the snow and isolation. I kind of want to put off reading this until I can curl up next to a warm fire and the snow outside…
  • I love sibling relationships in books and this sounds like it will be all about those familial ties.
  • I love the idea of the girls travelling together to find their brother and the adventures they will find along the way.
  • Look at that gorgeous cover! I know we shouldn’t judge by the cover but all of Kiran’s books have been beautiful inside and out.
